Seit 1995 findet jedes Jahr der vom Verband der Gehörgeschädigten (League for the Hard of Hearing) initiierte "International Noise Awareness Day", der Tag gegen Lärm, statt. Mit dem Tag gegen Lärm soll auf Lärm als Umweltthema aufmerksam gemacht werden.
